A Bird in Flight shot of the Little Pied Cormorant (Microcarbo melanoleucos), a very striking black and white Australian bird, whose pure black feathers shine out with a subtle purple iridescence in the right light and nicely shown in this photograph.
The Mareeba Wetlands, between Cairns and Port Douglas in Queensland, Australia are one of the most tranquil places I have visited and it was a great day for wildlife in general with the company of Bustards, Kangaroos, Black Cockatoos and Emus!
A day out for the boys, which my Son, Harvey, described it as the "best day ever" :-)
Taken on the 7D and my trusty favourite lens, the Canon 100-400mm L
